Since 1950, the “Union Rescue Mission” has been providing the homeless with food, shelter, and restoration through Christ. Unfortunately, the “Union Rescue Mission” is the only Christian Charity in Wichita. There are other Charities in Wichita that provide the homeless with food and shelter, but they do not share the Gospel. Wichita dramatically needs many more Christian Charities. Fundamentally, the homeless need to hear about Jesus and become strong Christians.

            Also, within the past year, the number of homeless has increased by 12%. The city of Wichita needs many more Christian Charities that provide the homeless with food, shelter, and share the Gospel.

            We have started “Peace of Mind” because we want to provide the homeless with food, shelter, and a relationship with Jesus. Additionally, “Peace of Mind” provides the homeless with additionally skills so that they can became rehabilitated and obtained a good job. “Peace of Mind” is located in the downtown district to provide a better location for the homeless.

            The Director of “Peace of Mind” is Norman Allen. Norm has been working with International Students for longer than 40 years. Additionally, Norm was the Director of ISI Wichita for 10 years. Norm has devoted 20% to directing “Peace of Mind.”

            Daniel McBride completed 2 PhD programs at Texas A&M University. Daniel has completed the CNA, CMA, and Medical Assistant programs. He spent 4 years completing the part-time Medical Assistant program. He spent 7 years in the Medical Field sharing the Gospel with Elderly patients. He completed the Medical Assistant program, and he is fully licensed to teach the homeless about CNA, CMA, or Medical Assistant programs. Upon completed of a CNA, CMA, or Medical Assistant program, the homeless can obtain a license and get a good job.

            Our objectives are to contact Churches and raise supporters. We would like to get enough supporters to have a building. Also, we would like to provide the homeless with food, shelter, and restoration with Jesus. Also, we want to provide the homeless with new skills and help them get good jobs.
